The protection of patient data is very important to the hospital and we take every care that it is not passed to persons not entitled to see it. Our leaflet The Protection and use of Patient Information explains this in more detail and can be viewed from the link at the bottom of this page.
If you would like to know more please contact the Data Protection Officer. You have the right to view you health records and an application form is available from the PALS Officer (01935 384706), Medical Records Manager or by email via communications@ydh.nhs.uk
Patient confidentiality means that the use of any form of camera or other recording equipment is strictly forbidden without the express permission of staff in advance.
The Trust has a duty to ensure the protection of data held on staff. This will not be routinely released without consent although some data is shared with Government Departments to monitor possible fraud. It is the responsibility of managers to ensure data held on staff is accurate and up to date and only held for the purpose intended.
