Yeovil District Hospital is advertising for a new chief executive to replace Gavin Boyle.
Gavin, who has led YDH since 2007, is leaving in March to take over the role of Chief Executive in a larger Trust - Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Chairman of YDH, Peter Wyman CBE said: “We do not want to think like a traditional organisation and we are not looking for a traditional candidate. We want someone with vision and innovation in approaching opportunities and finding solutions in these challenging economic times. We are looking for an outstanding individual - ability matters more than just pure experience and we will be considering candidates from both inside the NHS and those from the private sector who have a good knowledge of the NHS.
“It has been a pleasure working with Gavin – he is a very popular and effective chief executive and will be leaving Yeovil in a strong position as a high performing and clinically driven acute hospital.”
The job is being advertised on www.harveynash.com/yeovilceo.
