This Christmas the Maternity Department of Yeovil District Hospital has again placed a Christmas tree where people can remember a baby who died in miscarriage or at birth.
This year the tree is in the hospital chapel on level 4 where visitors can write a message on a silver star in memory of their baby and hang the star among the tree decorations. The hospital chapel is open daily between 7am and 9pm.
The Tree of Stars is provided in conjunction with The Snowdrop Group (Yeovil S.A.N.D.S.), which is a self-support group for parents and families who have suffered the loss of a baby as a result of a miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for fetal abnormality or cot death. The Snowdrop Group can be contacted on 07818 182230.
The tree was kindly donated by Castle Gardens of Sherborne.
