Clean Caring Responsive

You said it, we did it

At Yeovil District Hospital we really appreciate feedback from patients and their carers. Feedback is taken seriously and you can really make a difference if you tell us about something that we could do better.

Improvements which have been implemented on the Children's Ward as a result of feedback include:

  • "We dont like the food ": Staff met with the catering manager and a new menu for children and young people was devised which is much more appealing to our younger patients.

  • " My son would benefit from access to fresh air during his frequent admissions ": The Matron met with the Facilities Department and the play area on the roof has been renovated and is available for all paediatric patients.

  • " It's too far to the coffee shop for parents and visitors" : We haveĀ  ordered a hot drinks machine for the lift area.

  • Patients on our Intensive Care Unit complained that the doors and bins were too noisy. As a result we replaced the doors and fitted special closure devices on the bins.

  • A patient on our Gynaeological Ward said that "porters are a bit 'loud' in the morning. Nursing staff are fantastic - care has been 100%. Keep up the good work. It has been 1000 times better than the last time I was here". The Sister followed this up by speaking to the head porter who reminded his staff to be quiet on early morning rounds.

So if you think that we could do anything better please email communications@ydh.nhs.uk.
