Fundraising events

This page lists, and gives links to, fundraising events which are being held to support the Flying Colours for Yeovil Women's Hospital Appeal.

Forthcoming fundraising events:    

• 21 May - Bingo night - This bingo night is taking place in Misterton village, and there will be a variety of prizes including an Exeter football club family ticket (two adults and two children). The doors open at 6.30pm and eyes down is at 7.30pm.
• 25 May Karaoke at Ali's Bar - Karaoke takes place on the last Friday of every month. There will be a collection bucket for people to make donations. Ali's bar is on 6 Union Street, Yeovil, BA20 1PW (opposite Mulberrys restaurant).
• Date to be confirmed Nuffieldhealth and fitness centre fundraising week - Nuffield will be putting on a series of events including a themed sponsored cycle on the exercise bikes and a quiz night. More details about other events coming soon.
• 14 June - Wine and Cheese and Auction at Ali's bar. This evening event, will have a ticket price of £10, which will include a glass of wine, a selection of cheeses and a selection of nuts. • 22 June - Lawrences Auctioneers Summer Lunch and Lecture. Images of Majesty. In the year of the Diamond Jubilee, this one hour talk will look at 500 years of Royal portraiture. Richard Kay has unearthed a few surprising pictures of Britain's monarchs that will be unfamiliar to many people and he will be revealing how kings and queens have chosen to present themselves to their public since the days of King Henry VII. Delivered by Richard Kay, Lawrences Aucioneers' Picture Specialist, well known for his frequent appearances on Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic. In the beautiful setting of The Red House Long Street, Sherborne, DT9 3BS, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Stephen Edlmann on Friday 22 June 2012 at 10.30am for 11am. Carriages at 2.30pm. Tickets £25 in aid of the Flying Colours Appeal to include coffee on arrival, the lecture and a seated two course lunch with wine and coffee with chocolates to finish.
  
• 23 June - Elvis Tribute with Basset Allsorts with 50s 60s and more. This event is taking place at Westlands Leisure Complex, tickets are £10, there will be a raffle, candy floss and brilliant entertainment. Tickets are available from the Fundraising Office at Westlands Leisure Complex or Sarah, Community Fundraiser for the Flying Colours Appeal on 07920 207914.
• 23 June Variety Show at Gateway - This event is taking place at the Gateway in Yeovil, and looks set to be an action packed evening. More details to be confirmed.

• 30 June Orchestra in a Field - We are delighted to announce that we have been selected to be the charity partner for the ‘Orchestra in a Field’ music festival. This event will set Somerset ablaze with a colourful and eclectic programme offering something for everyone. A kaleidoscopic tour of the world’s best music from Tchaikovsky to Tubular Bells by way of hip hop, hand bells and opera, this is a festival like no other! • 4 August Family Fun Day at Mudford Rec - This event is taking place at Mudford Recreation ground in Yeovil. We will have a variety of stalls including a bouncy castle, face painter, Phoenix Cards and many many more. There will be a dance performance taking place and a tug of war competition between hospital staff and the police.
