OT Home Visits

Occupational therapy home visits are available from Kingston Wing and may be particularly useful before and after a hip replacement. The service is also open to other patients who may benefit from it following a hospital stay. All joint-replacement patients meet the ward’s Occupational Therapist at their pre-assessment appointment and have the opportunity of discussing their needs and concerns then. During their admission, the Occupational Therapist will visit them, arrange the hire of any necessary equipment and carry out a washing and dressing assessment. Should the patient feel that they would benefit from a home visit where the OT will assess their home and identify any areas that could be improved to aid their recovery, then we will be more than happy to arrange this.
