Staff accommodation

Yeovil District Hospital is able to offer top quality accommodation to staff from August 2012.

A new development of one and two bedroomed flats will house up to 70 junior doctors and other hospital staff. Yeovil District Hospital knows that the quality of the accommodation is an important consideration for new doctors coming into the area so contracted local housing providers Yarlington Housing Group to build, manage and maintain the properties which are available on one year leases.

Chief Executive Gavin Boyle said: “We are fortunate at Yeovil District Hospital to have a highly committed workforce, but we need to continue to attract the best junior doctors to the area. This initiative will provide them, and other staff,  with a high standard of living accommodation, and help to make Yeovil a training centre of choice.  The design for these homes enables each resident to have a private study/bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and is so much better than our existing out-of-date accommodation.”

The new properties are situated in St George’s Avenue which is within easy walking distance of the hospital.They are also close to a neighbourhood shopping area and primary school and are a short walk to the town centre. Car parking is provided as is the use of communal gardens.
